DDR is dedicated to the growth and prosperity of Downtown Dayton. We support non-profit and civic organizations, the arts, including theater, artists, musicians, comedians, and more. We love our local businesses, stores and restaurants. DDR is definitely one of the jewels in the Gem City of Dayton. In short, DDR is The Voice of the City!
Will Harris – Operations Manager
Will started his radio career in 1970 after earning an associates degree in broadcasting. In the early days, focusing his efforts in on air and off air production, sports play by play, and news presentation. He later moved into the sales department, where he managed a large list of accounts, maintaining a high level of production. He has also worked as a traffic reporter, on air personality, news anchor, and consultant. Now, he returns to his first love in radio, on air personality, and acts as Operations Manager for DDR.
Sue Harris – Business and Accounting Manager
Sue is a graduate of Miami University where she earned a degree in finance. She spent 22 years in radio on the business side as Accounting Manager. She managed payables, receivables, purchasing, traffic (commercial production and scheduling), worked to keep business applications up to date. She was also responsible for keeping payroll records and worked with accountants to maintain tax records.
Butch Brown – Program & Sales Manager
“Butch Brown has been on the radio for what, 50 years?” said TV 2 personality Jim Bucher recently. Well not quite, but close – and much of the time on air was for Dayton’s Station WONE AM980. Butch enjoyed a good stint on Smooth Jazz 106.5 as well. In addition to on-air duties Butch has been a Radio Sales and Marketing Professional for the last 20 years.Radio is not the only passion for Butch Brown as he has found time for many non-profits over the years to lend his talents and energy to, including the Arthritis Foundation, Project Christmas Smiles, the Dayton Boys Choir and more. Butch also co-owns Hoser Entertainment, a mobile DJ service and is Partners with his wife Karen Kelly in their family owned Advertising and Talent Agency.
Karen Kelly – Marketing & Promotions Director
Karen Kelly’s background is in radio but her career currently encompasses the entire trinity of media: radio, TV and print. Karen has over a 10 year span of being the host of Morning Radio, including LITE 99.9, the Rebel and Buckeye Country, in addition to two radio talk shows. Karen also does voice-overs, TV commercials and segments for local and national television. She has a newspaper column that appears in five publications, and is a freelance writer for magazines and newspapers. Karen, and her husband Butch Brown, have their own studio for voice-overs. Karen is a published author – one book of her own, “Seasons of Life: Ramblings of a Bleached Blonde Mind”, as well as being a contributor for “Chicken Soup for the Soul” and is currently writing two books and a screenplay. She is the director of Marketing for the Scott Family McDonald’s – and was most recently named “One of the top 25 Women to Watch in Dayton” in 2009. Butch and Karen hosted the half hour television show “Married in the Morning” in 2010 which aired on local station WWRD-TV.
